Pattern for Eddie- the lovable monster.

This is the first pattern I’ve written down- the rest I made were just improv -so tell me if there are any mistakes that need correcting, or parts that don’t work for you.
You need: Crochet hook, wool/ yarn in the appropriate weight (any colour you like, or a combination if you want), stuffing/ a suitable filling, a needle with a big eye (to sew with wool), an ability to sc, increase, decrease, and sl st, some craft eyes or scraps of black wool. And something to mark your rounds with- I just use a contrasting colour wool.
Took me about 4-5 hours, and I’m not exactly the fastest worker.
Don’t join your rows, work in a spiral and use a marker to mark your first stitch on every round.
Head:
Make a magic ring, and sc 6 into the ring, pull tight.
R1: 2sc in each sc
R2: Inc, 1sc until the end of the round
R3: Inc, 2sc until the end of the round.
R4: Inc, 3sc until the end of the round.
Rs 5-9: sc in each
Rs 10-11: 2sc, dec until the end of the round
R12: inc all
R13: Inc, 1sc (tie off)
If you’re using plastic eyes, attach them now. By this point, it should look sort of like a bowler hat.
Bottom of the head:
6sc in magic ring
Inc all
sc, inc
2sc, inc
3sc, inc
4sc inc (you may need to add extra rounds until the circle fits the head)
Stuff the head firmly, then sew on the circle.
Body and Legs:
6sc in magic ring
R1: Inc all
R2: Inc all
R3: sc, inc. Repeat til end.
Rs 4- 13: sc in all
R14: 3sc, dec. Repeat til end.
R15: 2sc, dec. Repeat til end.
Rs 16-17: sc in all.
Skip to the opposite st, and sl st into it, to create a “bridge”

Arms: (Make 2)
6sc in magic ring
R1: in all
Rs 2-6: sc in all
R7: sc, dec. Repeat until end
Rs 8-12: sc in each
Tie off leaving enough to sew onto the body, and lightly stuff.
Assembly:
Sew the head onto the body, and the arms onto the sides of the body. If you haven’t used plastic eyes, using wool or embroidery thread, place the eyes where you want, as well as a mouth. Add fangs made from white felt, or embroider them onto him.
Refer to the picture for where to place things if you’re not sure.
Et Voila. Opinions, corrections etc. to my twitter please- it’s Lornuh
Give credit to this blog if you post any pics, and don’t sell the pattern or claim it as your own. Do whatever you want with your very own Eddie though. Maybe send me a pic (:
